The Aga Khan Award for Architecture’s prize-giving ceremony takes place in Cairo on October 15th. Some 241 projects were nominated for the 1989 awards and eleven of them share the $500;000 prize.

The Aga Khan Housing Board is active in the South and the Northern areas of Pakistan. On behalf of the Development Workshop; John Norton was invited to visit the Housing Board and its project area in the region of Gilgit; in order to examine the area; the project activities; and to discuss possibilities of some form of collaboration. This visit took place from the 16th to the 23rd May 1988.
