These are the voices of children in a Luanda musseque: “I like football but I don’t have a ball. I can find tins to make toy cars with. It’s not good to play with the rubbish because it’s ugly and could make us ill. The government needs to see the situation and see the rubbish. They need to build a playground so the children can play… so we don’t have any more diseases. Citizens of all ages need to organise to make their voices heard. Development Workshop and One World Action developed strategies with the Luanda Provincial Government to manage the rubbish problem in poor urban areas.
